Electron Emission from Ferroelectric Cathodes Excited by Pulsed Voltage

Year: 1999
Type: article
Abstract: Effect of spontaneous polarization on the ferroelectric electron emission (FEE) is investigated by using ferroelectric materials having different value of Ps.Ferroelectric materials, namely, PZT ceramics and BaTiO3 ceramics as an emitting cathode. The values of spontaneous polarization are Ps=28μC/cm2, and Ps=0.8μC/cm2, respectively. The thickness of each cathode is 500μm.The solid gold electrode was deposited on the bottom surface. The grid electrode of 100μmwidth and 300μmseparations was deposited on the top surface.Negative pulsed voltages with the rise time of 500 ns and the pulse width of 3μswere applied. The
