Abstract: There have been reports on simultaneous measurements of the lightning current and the induced voltage on test distribution lines. The data in these reports are analyzed by a numerical model on the coupling of a lightning stroke and an overhead wire postulating several stroke models. The calculated induced voltage waveforms are compared with the actually measured waveforms, and the validity of each model of the lightning stroke is discussed.
