UV-Vis Spectral Changes in the Binding of Acyclic Diamines with a Zinc Porphyrin Tweezer
Year: 1998
Type: article
Abstract: Department of Chemistry, Columbia University, New York City, NY, 10027, U.S.A. Manuscript received 18 August 1998 Porphyrin tweezer 1 forms 1:1 complexes with a series of acyclic aliphatic α,.ω-diamines. Chain elongation of the diamines is accompanied by a red-shift in UV -vis maxima and increase in half band-widths of the So ret bands. These changes are accounted for, respectively, by a decrease in exciton coupling and an increase in structural flexibility.
