Abstract: This study addresses the factors that could affect the intention of physicians to adopt telemedicine technology. Based on theoretical foundations of technology adoption models, a reviewed model is proposed and tested via questionnaires with a sample of 127 physicians that were at the time of the survey, just about to use telemedicine technology. Results analyzed with PLS indicate that physicians' perceptions of usefulness and ease of use of telemedicine are positively related to their intention to adopt this technology, whereas the image they project by using it and the degree of their voluntariness to use it have no bearing on their intention to adopt telemedicine.
