Abstract: CARs have shown great promise in the field of targeted immunotherapy against cancer. These serve as a powerful tool that help redirect T cells to recognize and target tumor cells. Despite extensive clinical testing, the underlying attributes that ensure optimal T cell survival and effector functions are yet to be delineated. Here we analyze the effects of different signaling domains on the proliferation and function of CAR T cells. We report how different CAR costimulatory domains can affect cell longevity.
