A Study on Applicability of the MPS Method to Response Analysis of Moored Floating Structure in Water Waves

Abstract: The present paper describes applicability of the MPS (Moving Particle Semi-implicit) method to response analysis of moored floating structure in water waves. The ocean development with a floating structure at offshore attracts attention. Moored floating structure shows a complicated response at offshore. In this research, first, the author developed a non-linear mooring model using a nonlinear spring condition for the MPS method and examined validity of that model. Next, the author performed the water tank experiment and the simulation of the 2D-MPS method introduced that model in order to analysis of moored floating' response in regular waves.
