The Rise of HR Analytics: A Preliminary Exploration
Year: 2017
Type: preprint
Abstract: In recent years, HR analytics has risen greatly in popularity among practitioners and consultants in the field of human resource management. To this date, however, HR analytics has not been subject to much scrutiny from academic researchers. The aim of this paper is therefore to examine the rise of HR analytics over the last few years through the theoretical lens of management fashion theory. This theoretical lens places particular emphasis on how different supply-side actors involved in the human resource management field have developed and positioned HR analytics as a necessary solution to contemporary challenges.
