A Prospective Phase 2 Clinical Trial of KIR Mismatched Unrelated Donor Transplantation for Children and Young Adults with High Risk AML: A Report of Children's Oncology Group AAML05P1 Study
Year: 2017
Type: article
Study design: Clinical Trial
Abstract: Background: Young people with high risk AML have a poor prognosis. AML patients receiving killer immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) mismatched haploidentical HSCT have reported improved survival due to reduced TRM and relapse. COG AAML05P1 is a prospective phase 2 trial of unrelated donor HSCT in which KIR typing of donors was available to the treating physician at the time of donor selection. The aim of the study was to determine whether prospective selection of KIR mismatched donors is feasible and improves outcomes.
