T-Cell Replete Haploidentical Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation with Post-Transplant Cyclophosphamide Results in Outcomes Similar to Those of Traditionally Matched Donors in Active Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Year: 2017
Type: article
Abstract: Background: Outcomes for AML patients who fail to achieve complete remission are poor. Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) from HLA-matched related (MRD) or HLA-matched unrelated (MUD) donors can induce long-term survival in active AML. HCT with HLA-haploidentical (haplo) related donors is feasible when matched donors are not available. It is unknown how outcomes compare in active AML patients who receive haplo versus traditionally matched HCT.
