Abstract: doi: 10.1093/ije/dys042 Int J Epidemiol. 2012;41:711–21 In this article, on page 716 the sentence “Of note, only 5 men (3 highly exposed and 2 not exposed) out of 1537 cases and 3 men (1 highly exposed and 2 not exposed) out of 1617 controls reported having been diagnosed with silicosis” is wrong. The correct sentence should have read: “Of note, only 5 men (2 with high exposure, 2 with low exposure, 1 not exposed) out of 1537 cases and 3 men (2 highly exposed and 1 not exposed) out of 1617 controls reported having been diagnosed with silicosis”. As we detected this error while reviewing our data to respond to a letter to the IJE Editor, we would like to thank the letter’s authors, E. Pira and M.
