Abstract: The Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) three year data favour a red power spectrum at the level of two standard deviations, which provides a stringent constraint on the inflation models. In this note we use these data to constrain brane inflation models and find that the KKLMMT (Kachru–Kallosh–Linde–Maldacena–McAllister–Trivedi) model cannot fit WMAP+SDSS (Sloan Digital Sky Survey) data at the level of one standard deviation and a fine-tuning, eight parts in a thousand at least, is needed at the level of two standard deviations.
