Separation: Acoustic Separation of Nanoparticles in Continuous Flow (Adv. Funct. Mater. 14/2017)
Year: 2017
Type: article
Abstract: Tony Jun Huang and co-workers use a standing acoustic wave field to achieve size-based separation of nanoparticles. As the researchers describe in article number 1606039, large particles experience stronger deflection than smaller ones. The method requires neither label, nor contact and applies a principle that is independent of particle charge, polarity or buffer conditions, rendering it particularly promising for biomedical applications.
