Abstract: Inspection was made to examine properties of mortars ( 1: 1 - 1 : 5) randomly sampled from 10 ready-mixed concrete plants in the Kanto area. As fresh and hardened properties of the mortar, slump, slump flow, mortar flow, air content, bleeding rate, compressive strength, static modulus of elasticity and length change were studied. It was found that the properties of the mortar showed considerable scatter by plants though the designed mixture proportions were the same.
