Abstract: The structure of artemisia ketone had heretofore been represented as 2, 5, 5-trimethyl-1, 6-heptadien-4-one (I), shown in Chart 1, but this was corrected to 2, 5, 5-trimethyl-2, 6-heptadien-4-one (II), as shown in Chart 2. All the reactions could be explained rationally by denying the existence of an isoartemisia-ketone.
