The Microbiota: A New Variable Impacting Cancer Treatment Outcomes
Year: 2017
Type: article
Abstract: Preclinical evidence has established that the host commensal microbiota can contribute to therapeutic response in cancer models, a finding supported by early clinical data. This connection between the microbiome and clinical outcome in oncology is cause for new consideration in the administration of antibiotics and microbiota-modulating interventions to improve outcomes.
