Abstract: The dimensional tolerance of fracture toughness specimens is relatively provided, therefore, smaller specimens suffer stricter dimension requirements. In this paper, J-integrals for miniature C(T) specimens, which were expected to be applied for the direct determination of the fracture toughness of reactor pressure vessels in light water reactor plants, were analyzed by three-dimensional elastic-plastic finite element analysis. The dimensional tolerance required for adequate accuracy of fracture toughness evaluation was ascertained.
