Sub-Watt Femtosecond Laser Source with the Spectrum Spanning 3–8 μm

Abstract: We demonstrate an approach to a middle-IR frequency comb generator, which uniquely combines Watt-level power, exceptionally broad spectrum and small footprint. The source is based on an OP-GaAs OPO synchronously pumped by a Cr:ZnS femtosecond MOPA.
