Context is Key in Addressing Obesity and Lifestyle in Diverse Populations of Cancer Survivors

Year: 2017
Type: article
Abstract: Racial and ethnic minority communities in the United States are challenged by an unequal burden of cancer incidence, morbidity, and mortality.Cancer incidence projections for 2010 to 2030 show that the highest increases are expected among older adults and minorities; thus, outcome disparities will continue to grow (1).Many factors drive these differences, among which obesity and lifestyle are important yet modifiable conditions (2).
