Scar Homogenization in Atrial Fibrillation Ablation: Evolution and Practice
Year: 2017
Type: review
Abstract: Atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation has emerged as the preferred rhythm control strategy for symptomatic paroxysmal AF refractory or intolerant to at least one class I or III antiarrhythmic medication. Since the initial observation by Haissaguerre and colleagues, of pulmonary vein triggers initiating atrial fibrillation (AF), pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) has become the cornerstone for paroxysmal AF ablation therapy.
