Novel Role of Calcineurin Inhibitors in Curbing T Cells’ Sweet Tooth

Abstract: By inhibiting NFAT activation, calcineurin inhibitors not only prevent TCR-stimulated T cells from producing IL-2, but also reduce T cell utilization of glucose and metabolic reprogramming, thus preventing T cell effector differentiation.
