The impact of mindfulness training on threat-related anticipatory activation in trait anxiety
Year: 2017
Type: preprint
Abstract: This project will test hypotheses linking individual differences in trait anxiety to anticipatory BOLD activation of the anterior insula and BNST during unpredictable threat processing, functional connectivity of an "aversive amplification" circuit involving the amygdala and anterior mid-cingulate cortex, and reduction of anticipatory activation and functional connectivity following an 8-week program in mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR). This is a subproject of the grant "Neural and behavioral correlates of the impact of meditation", 4P01AT004952 (PI: Richard J Davidson).
