Validation of MN Gvhd Risk Score in 1262 Acute Gvhd Patients at the University of Minnesota

Abstract: We previously developed a novel acute GVHD risk score by examining the GVHD stage and grade at onset of steroid treatment in 1723 patients from 4 centers and the BMT CTN (MacMillan et al, BBMT 2015). High risk (HR) patients were 3 times less likely to respond to steroid therapy and had >2-fold increased risk of mortality and transplant-related mortality (TRM). To validate these results in a more homogeneous cohort, we performed a single center analysis at the University of MN in 1262 patients treated for acute GVHD with prednisone 60 mg/m2/d for 14 days, followed by an 8-week taper.
