Immunosuppression Withdrawal is an Effective Treatment of Relapse after Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplant for Myelofibrosis
Year: 2018
Type: article
Abstract: Allogeneic stem cell transplant (allo-SCT) is the only potential curative treatment for myelofibrosis (MF). However, relapse after transplant remains one of the leading causes of death. Treatment options for relapsed patients are very limited with no standardized approaches. Immunomodulation has been used in this context, but there is no evidence to date to support the use of immunosuppression reduction/withdrawal alone as primary treatment for mixed chimerism (MM) and/or relapsed MF after transplant.
