Reactivation of Human Herpesvirus 6 (HHV6) in Pediatric Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) Recipients

Abstract: Background: Reactivation of HHV6 occurs in 30-50% of patients (pts) who receive allo HCT. However, the recommendations on post-transplant HHV6 monitoring and treatment (tx) in pediatric pts continue to be controversial. To address this issue we report HHV6 rates and the clinical outcomes of 221 pediatric allo HCT recipients.
