Veno-Occlusive Disease Characteristics in Pediatric Patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia Receiving Gemtuzumab Ozogamicin before Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplant

Year: 2018
Type: article
Abstract: Veno-occlusive disease (VOD) has been reported in patients (pts) with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) receiving gemtuzumab ozogamicin (GO), a humanized anti-CD33 monoclonal antibody conjugated to calicheamicin. This analysis characterized VOD risk and outcomes in pediatric pts receiving GO before stem cell transplant (SCT) using data from a subset of pts randomly selected for research level reporting to the Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR). Pts were excluded if they received a non-myeloablative conditioning regimen.
