Pooled Analysis of Day +100 Survival for Defibrotide-Treated Patients with Hepatic Veno-Occlusive Disease/Sinusoidal Obstruction Syndrome (VOD/SOS) and Ventilator or Dialysis Dependence Following Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT)
Year: 2018
Type: article
Abstract: Background: VOD/SOS is an unpredictable complication of conditioning for HSCT or chemotherapy. VOD/SOS with multi-organ dysfunction (MOD) may be associated with >80% mortality. In the US, defibrotide is approved to treat hepatic VOD/SOS with renal or pulmonary dysfunction after HSCT; it is approved in the EU to treat severe hepatic VOD/SOS after HSCT in patients aged >1 month. Here, a pooled analysis evaluated Day +100 survival by severity of MOD.
