Outcome of Patients with Myelodysplastic Syndrome and a Monosomal Karyotype Following Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplant: Single Institution Experience

Year: 2018
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: Background: Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are a group of heterogeneous disorders of defective myeloid maturation and differentiation. Monosomal karyotype (MK) has a poor prognosis. Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) remains the only potentially curative treatment. We evaluated the outcome of patients with monosomal karyotype MDS following HSCT in our institution.
