Abstract: Background: Viral infections remain a challenge to treat post HCT in children, and significantly contribute to morbidity and mortality. Virus specific T cells (VSTs) have shown tremendous clinical efficacy in treating viral infections post-HCT, with minimal toxicity and long-term efficacy. We have used donor-derived VSTs in individual patients, however not all donors are agreeable to the process, and numerous patients may benefit from VSTs who do not have an identified donor/have other disease indications.
