1215: Type 4 Phosphodiesterase Inhibitor-Mediated Atteneuation of Uninhibited Bladder Contractions in Rats with Partial Bladder Outlet Obstraction
Year: 2005
Type: article
Abstract: premtctuntwn contractions, shorter interval and lower micturition volume, as compared to the control. The residual urines were not observed in both groups. In the functional study, the contractile responses induce by carbachol and EFS in WHHL groups tended to be lower than that in the control group.Histological examination of bladder demonstrated that urothelium was thicker in WHHL group than in the control. The internal iliac artery in WHHL group showed significant atherosclerosis lesions, thickening of media and narrowing arterial lumen size, suggesting the poor blood supply.CONCLUSIONS: The present study demonstrated that bladder function of WHHL rabbits was detrusor overactivity state, which may be caused by bladder ischemia. It is suggested that WHHL rabbit is a useful animal model for evaluation of pathophysiology of overactive bladder.
