Patient Disengagement From an HIV Preexposure Prophylaxis Program in a Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic

Abstract: Among 307 patients enrolled in an HIV preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP) program in the Public Health-Seattle & King County STD Clinic, 52 patients (17%) did not fill their PrEP prescription and 40% of those who started PrEP discontinued it at least once within 12 months.
