Abstract: The majority ofpeople have been either targets or perpetrâtors of aggression at some point .intheir lives. The present research assesses self-awareness ofone's own control levels as related to aggression and self-efficacy.The correlation between six measures ofcontrol and the corresponding six ratings ofcontrol for 146 Introductory psychololy students was used as the measure of self-awareness ofone's own control levels.Self-awareness, aggression, and selÊeffrcacy were then intercor¡elated.contrary to hypothesis one, self-awareness of control was directly rather than inversely correlated with aggression. Results supported hypotheses two that self-awareness would be directly correlated with self-efficacy.Hypothesis three that self-awareness would be more highly conelated with self-efficacy for those with high levels ofmeasured control was not supported.Hypothesis four that self- efficacy would be inversely related to aggression was suppofed for impulsive/impatient aggression but not for general, physical, or ve¡bal aggression.
