Abstract: and clinicopathological parameters was also analyzed by TCGA database. The correlation between PLK3 and proliferation, metastasis and recurrence was analyzed by GSEA.Cytology was further explored for PLK3's role in prostate cancer proliferation.RESULTS: Our immunohistochemical results showed that the expression level of PLK3 protein in human prostate cancer tissues was higher than that in normal tissues.Correspondingly, the expression level of PLK3 protein in prostate cancer cells PC-3, DU145 and 22RV1 is higher than that of normal prostate epithelial cells.PLK3 expression levels correlated to pathological grade, clinical stage, tumor invasion, lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis and other clinicopathological parameters.Similarly, we found that the expression level of PLK3 positively correlated with the Gleason score in the TCGA database.Kaplan-Meier analysis showed that higher levels of PLK3 mRNA predicted poor disease-free survival in all or non-metastatic patients.Cox regression analysis showed PLK3 is an independent prognostic indicator of disease-free survival (P ¼ 0.025).GSEA analysis shows that PLK3 plays a role in the proliferation, metastasis and recurrence of prostate cancer.In-depth analysis of PLK3 and furthermore PLK3 was associated with angiogenesis.Cytology experiments show that PLK3 promotes the proliferation of prostate cancer.CONCLUSIONS: PLK3 is highly expressed in prostate cancer and correlates with clinicopathological parameters such as Gleason score, pathological grade, clinical stage, tumor invasion, lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis.PLK3 is an independent prognostic indicator of disease-free survival in prostate cancer. It may accelerate the recurrence of prostate cancer through proliferation and promote the recurrence of distant metastasis through the formation of blood vessels and the promotion of prostate cancer metastasis.
