Abstract: In this paper power allocation in a cellular network, which transmitter uses massive multiple inputs multiple outputs (MIMO) system was studied. As circuit power consumption is increased by the number of antenna in transmitter and users, thus, to analyze the performance of the network, energy efficiency objective function with considering circuit power consumption was selected. An energy efficiency optimization problem under both maximum transmit power and quality of service (QoS) constraints was considered. To solve this problem under cooperation between users and their base station (BS), energy efficient power allocation algorithm was proposed. In numerical result convergence of the algorithm was shown, also the appropriate number of transmit antenna and users were obtained. Finally, pilot contamination effect was evaluated, where it showed energy efficiency fell down dramatically.
