Abstract: Spanish adaptation of an instrument to assess conflict resolution (Conflictalk): Psychometric data of reliability and validity. The study aimed to\nperform the Spanish adaptation of an instrument that measures the conflict-resolution strategies (Conflictalk). The sample consisted of 2,283 adolescents\nfrom the Basque Country, Spain (50.5% males, 49.5% females), from 12 to 17 years of age. Descriptive, comparative, and correlational\nmethodology was used, and 8 assessment instruments were administered. The results showed high internal consistency. Analysis of variance\nconfirmed that females obtain higher scores in cooperative and passive conflict-resolution strategies, and males in aggressive strategies. The use\nof strategies was similar between ages 12 and 17. The correlation coefficients suggest that adolescents who use many cooperative strategies have\nhigh levels of empathy, emotional intelligence, extroversion, openness, friendliness, and responsibility, whereas those who use many aggressive\nstrategies have low empathy, low self-esteem, high emotional instability, low agreeableness, low responsibility, commit many antisocial behaviors,\nobtain high scores on victimization and perpetration of bullying and cyberbullying, present many school problems and low social adaptation. The\nstudy provides reliability and validity of the Spanish adaptation of Conflictalk.
