Abstract: Akin to human transfer of experiences, transfer learning as a subfield of machine learning adapts knowledge acquired in one domain to a new domain. The authors systematically investigate how this concept might be applied to the study of users on emerging Web platforms, proposing a transfer learning–based approach, TraNet.
