Abstract: Social and environmental issues are directly connected to many of the most important risks that product development companies are facing. Based on literature review and interviews, this study investigates risk management practices on the strategic, tactical, and operational levels of companies. The findings are used to identify preconditions for integrating sustainability into risk management processes and support tools. The results show that sustainability risks need to be connected to company objectives through internal and external stakeholder value creation.
