Generation Z: Utilizing Adaptive and Authentic Leadership to Promote Intergenerational Collaboration at Work

Year: 2018
Type: article
Abstract: This paper explores intergenerational collaboration between Generation Z and the older generations. Through the use of both Adaptive Leadership and Authentic Leadership, organizations can promote positive work environments and foster collective intelligence. This paper will start by reviewing existing literature surrounding Millennials in the workplace as well as what we know so far about Generation Z in order to fill in the gaps around what corporate leadership can expect from their Generation Z followership. By overcoming fixed mental models, leadership can change the way younger generations are viewed and can start to embrace the rapidly changing world of the future.
