Abstract: Copyright information:Taken from "DFsn collaborates with Highwire to down-regulate the Wallenda/DLK kinase and restrain synaptic terminal growth"http://www.neuraldevelopment.com/content/2/1/16Neural Development 2007;2():16-16.Published online 15 Aug 2007PMCID:PMC2031890. Representative traces of evoked and spontaneous transmitter release recorded from wild-type (WT), [], [presynaptic rescue: ] and third instar larvae. The mean mEJP amplitude (b), EJP amplitude (c) and quantal content (d) are plotted for WT, , and (n = 13, 15, 10 and 9 cells, respectively). The mutant shows reduced EJP amplitude and reduced quantal content (< 0.001 for versus WT). These electrophysiological defects in the mutant are all rescued by presynaptic expression of DFsn (< 0.001 for versus ;> 0.5 for versus WT). suppresses the reduction of mini frequency in the mutant (> 0.5 for versus WT). The EJP amplitude and the quantal content of the double mutant are not significantly different than (> 0.1), demonstrating that does not suppress the defect in evoked release.
