Abstract: Working on homelessness in France and Quebec from a gender perspective, the authors investigate gendered intervention in social assistance for homeless people. In this article, they first examine the arrangements for gender (non)diversity in day centres and shelters. This leads them, secondly, to analyse the issues that pervade professional practices around gender (non)diversity, in the light of feminist approaches in social intervention.
