Modeling Clausal Complementation for a Grammar Engineering Resource

Abstract: We present a grammar engineering library for modeling objectival declarative clausal complementation patterns attested cross-linguistically. Our primary contribution is positing a set of syntactico-semantic analyses couched within a variant of the HPSG syntactic formalism and integrating them with a variety of phenomena already implemented in a grammar engineering toolkit. We evaluate the addition to the system on testsuites from genetically diverse languages that were not considered during development.
