Multichromophoric energy transfer under the influence of a correlated environment
Year: 2009
Type: preprint
Abstract: We investigate energy transfer in a model multichromophoric system beyond the common assumption that bath-induced fluctuations at different sites are uncorrelated. We find an interplay between exciton coherence and correlated fluctuations that results in a room temperature transfer process featuring a marked dependence on the degree of symmetry and delocalization of the initial exciton state. Our work illustrates how coherence within a correlated environment may provide a fine efficiency control mechanism in closely packed photosynthetic complexes
