Abstract: The study presents the results of a research project on a specific area of the southern Spanish plateau, the Tajuña Valley (Madrid) -216,1 km2-, based on intensive archaeological survey, with full coverage of the land and applying methods of spatial and territorial archeology with an innovative methodology in order to get to a quality control in this field. So, in this kind of investigation our purpose is define a set of essential standards (effectiveness and productivity) that could be applied in any context, regardless of environmental, chronological and cultural references, in order to compare the results of survey research in archaeology. To that end, we turn to the experience gained in this research project.
