Abstract: On the basis of analyzing the necessity of protecting the cultural heritage of rock paintings in the Yellow River Basin, this paper mainly expounds the process of building the database of rock paintings, and looks forward to the protection of rock paintings from the following four aspects: the application of new technology for protecting rock paintings, the legislation for protecting rock paintings, the publication of rock paintings and the cooperation of rock paintings protection agencies.
