Early‐onset colorectal cancer: What reported statistics can and cannot tell us and their implications
Year: 2019
Type: editorial
Abstract: In this issue of Cancer, Virostko et al report on the distribution of adult colorectal cancer cases in the National Cancer Data Base from 2004 to 2015 according to age eligibility for screening. This editorial discusses the findings and the features of the database and uses population‐based data to contextualize emerging trends in incidence and mortality and the need for research to improve outcomes for all people at risk for colorectal cancer, regardless of screening eligibility.
