Interstitial flows regulate collective cell migration heterogeneity through adhesion

Year: 2020
Type: article
Abstract: The authors show that the interstitial flow promotes amoeboid over the mesenchymal motility phenotype by sweeping away the adhesion molecules. The time-dependent adhesion interactions that determine the structural rearrangements and self-generated force due to actin remodeling dictate the super-diffusive behavior of both motility phenotype.
