Push-pull optimization of quantum controls

Abstract: This paper describes the benefits of including a set of operators orthogonal to the target operator. In addition to improving the convergence of optimization routines, the authors find that the push-pull technique is able to optimize the scanning the parameter space and find better solutions for improved control.
