Abstract: The existence of an oligometastatic cancer state has been supported by theoretical considerations (1) and clinical observations (2) for several decades. Defining oligometastatic disease is challenging. A relevant (though vague) description might be “that some patients so affected should be amenable to a curative therapeutic strategy” (2).
