Liver‐on‐a‐Chip: In Vitro Human Liver Model of Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis by Coculturing Hepatocytes, Endothelial Cells, and Kupffer Cells (Adv. Healthcare Mater. 24/2019)
Year: 2019
Type: article
Abstract: In article number 1901379, Junmin Lee, Ali Khademhosseini, and co-workers, develop an in vitro human liver model of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) by co-culturing human hepatocytes, umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs), and Kupffer cells (KCs) into spheroids. The proposed system is an appropriate model to mimic and monitor the progression of NAFLD from steatosis into steatohepatitis.
