Abstract: The situation of Art Education is delicate, especially in the Latin American context. Every day we have a greater number of examples of art experiences in cities and alternative spaces. But at the same time, the presence of the arts in the school is limited, and teachers specialized in art education progressively decrease. Faced with this precarious and forceful reality, we present a review and proposing innovative actions through we can improve both the practice of artistic activities in educational centers and non-formal environments, training teachers in the field. In order to improve the situation we propose educational environments that include different concepts and geographies, aspects that range from the alphabet, the city and museums, including the use of work for projects with incisive themes (fear, body, death). We cannot forget cinema and audiovisuals in general. This proposal also stems from the author's reflections after 35 years of teacher experience, a period in which changes have been resounding, both in terms of digital technologies and in the very conception of real and virtual space since the educational perspective.
