Abstract: The UAB team focused our efforts on Project 1: Production and Characterization of 76,77Br and has completed all milestones. We have conducted irradiations using novel cobalt selenide targets prepared in house and by our collaborators at UWisc. A distillation apparatus for the purification of the produced radiobromine has been constructed and radiobromine is in routine production at UAB. The gas target route is under final optimization for routine production. A chemistry graduate student, Samuel Ferran, led the project for both the gas and solid target experiments this work will be included in his thesis project. Two manuscripts are in preparation based on this work. Additionally, an undergraduate student Retta El Sayed assisted with this project and is now enrolled in graduate school. Monthly collaborative meetings took place as well as several in person team meetings with all participating sites.
